Tannery

Django 5 with HTMX, teams, Stripe and Celery, documented like a book

About this starter

Tannery is a Django kit for people who would rather not run a JavaScript framework. Pages are server-rendered with HTMX and Alpine for interaction. It includes django-allauth with social logins and two-factor, teams with invites and roles, Stripe subscriptions synced through webhooks, Celery and Redis for jobs, a customized Django admin, an API with token auth and translations for four languages.

The documentation is the strongest we have seen in any kit: every feature has a page explaining how it works and how to remove it. It is opinionated about Postgres and Docker for local development. The limitation: the Docker-first setup is slow on older laptops, and running without Docker is supported but feels like the second path.

Highlights

  • 01Every feature documented, including removal
  • 02Token-auth API alongside the HTMX app
  • 03Four languages with Django's i18n
