Trailmix Maps lets hikers download a region and navigate with no signal, then share trail conditions like washed-out bridges or snow on the pass. About 200,000 people use it each month in summer.

As a winter intern you'll ship one real feature from start to finish. Past interns built elevation profiles and the "turnaround time" reminder that's now one of our most-used settings. In the first few weeks you'll fix small bugs to learn the codebase, then pick a project with your mentor and present it to the company at the end. We use TypeScript, React Native and MapLibre, with a Node backend.

Interns work 35 hours a week within US time zones, with two fixed hours of overlap with the team each day. Expect written project specs, code review on every pull request, and a weekly 1:1 that's yours to set the agenda for.
