Cutlist

Edit interviews by editing the transcript, then send a rough cut to your editor

About this tool

Cutlist transcribes multi-camera interview footage, lets you assemble a story by dragging paragraphs, and exports the result as an XML timeline for Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut. Camera angles switch on speaker changes, and every cut lands on a word boundary instead of mid-syllable.

Documentary editors, video journalists and marketing teams that cut testimonial videos use it to get from six hours of footage to a ten-minute string-out in an afternoon. It is deliberately not a finishing tool: there is no color, graphics or sound mix, because those happen in your editor. Transcription accuracy drops with heavy accents in noisy rooms, and those passages are highlighted for checking.
