Skep

Headless Laravel API with a Nuxt front end, built for web and mobile clients

About this starter

Skep runs Laravel purely as an API: Sanctum for SPA and token auth, Cashier for Stripe, teams with roles, notifications, file uploads to S3-compatible storage and versioned endpoints with API resources. The front end is a Nuxt 4 app with login, billing, team and settings screens, and the same API is documented for a mobile client with Scribe.

It is opinionated about a clean API contract because the author built it to serve an Expo app alongside the web. The limitation: you run two applications and handle CORS, cookie domains and SSR auth in Nuxt. For a web-only product, a Livewire or Inertia kit gets you there with fewer moving parts.

Highlights

  • 01Versioned API documented with Scribe
  • 02Nuxt 4 front end with SSR auth
  • 03Same API ready for a mobile client
