About this game
Every run in Ashen Orchard is one harvest season with a wildfire creeping in from the edge of the map. You pick fruit, dig firebreaks and hire seasonal workers, all while deciding which rows of trees to sacrifice. What you sell at the end buys permanent improvements to the farmhouse, like a water tower or a faster cart.
It looks like a sun-faded seed catalogue, all orange skies and pale green leaves, with a gentle acoustic score that tightens as the smoke rolls in. Runs take 40 minutes; reaching the final orchard took our curator about 10 hours. It is a good fit for farming-game fans who want real stakes. The caveat: the worker pathfinding occasionally gets stuck on fences.
