Wickerwork

React Router 7 and SQLite on Fly, with Litestream backups

About this starter

Wickerwork is a Remix-lineage starter built on React Router 7 framework mode. It stores everything in SQLite, replicates to object storage with Litestream, and deploys to Fly with a single config file. Sessions are cookie-based with password and passkey sign-in, Stripe handles subscriptions, and there is a small admin route, Playwright tests for every flow, and a GitHub Actions pipeline.

The kit is opinionated about web fundamentals: forms work without JavaScript, loaders fetch data, and there is no client state library. Tests are taken seriously, with fixtures for every billing state. The limitation is SQLite itself. Writes go to one region, so a global audience will feel latency on mutations unless you add a replication layer.

Highlights

  • 01Forms keep working with JavaScript disabled
  • 02Playwright tests for signup, billing and cancel
  • 03Litestream backups configured on first deploy
