Orrin Sans

A humanist UI sans with Latin, Cyrillic and Greek under the Open Font License

About this resource

Orrin Sans is a humanist sans drawn for small sizes on screens. Its large x-height, open apertures and slightly wider letterforms keep text readable at 12 and 13px in dense interfaces. Eight weights with italics cover about 700 glyphs per style, including Latin, Cyrillic and Greek, tabular figures and arrows.

It's an excellent free choice for product teams localizing into Eastern European markets who need one family across scripts. Released under the SIL Open Font License, it can be self-hosted, bundled in apps and modified. The caveat: the heaviest weights feel a little soft for display use, so pair it with something sharper for marketing headlines.

Highlights

  • 01Large x-height for 12px and 13px interface text
  • 02Latin, Cyrillic and Greek in every style
