Mycelia Run

Play as a mold colony spreading through a different damp cellar each run

About this game

You are a fungus. Every run starts with a single spore in a forgotten cellar, and you grow by choosing which threads to extend toward bread crusts, apple cores and leaking pipes. Mutations come from what you eat: rot a jam jar and you might gain a sugar burst, colonize a rusty can and you get armor against the bleach-wielding homeowner who shows up at dusk.

The close-up art is surprisingly beautiful, all soft greens and spore glitter under a single dangling bulb. Currently there are four cellars and around 15 hours of content. It suits players who like slow, branching growth more than reflexes. It is in early access, so balance shifts every few patches and the third cellar's boss still feels unfinished.

Highlights

  • 01Mutations come from what you consume
  • 02Four cellars now, two more on the roadmap
  • 03Patch notes every three weeks
