Senior Data Engineer

Oxbow Analytics tells independent shops how many people walk past, how many come in and what changes when they move the window display. We process 4 billion sensor events a month from 11,000 stores.

You'll own the batch and streaming pipelines that turn raw sensor pings into hourly counts. In the first 90 days you'll move our nightly jobs from a self-managed Spark cluster to a managed service, add data contracts between ingestion and analytics, and cut the time a store waits for yesterday's numbers from 9 a.m. to 6 a.m. local time. We use Python, Spark, Airflow, Snowflake and dbt.

The data team of six spans Austin to Dublin. Daily updates are written, pipeline changes are reviewed in pull requests with a short design note, and we meet together for one hour on Tuesdays.
