Ironclad Picnic

Naval warfare with paper boats, fought across a garden pond

About this game

Ironclad Picnic is a turn-based naval game played with folded paper boats on a garden pond. Each boat has a shape that decides how it moves and what it can carry: a crane boat lifts mines, a broad barge carries more cannons. Wind and lily pads add their own chaos, and a wet boat sinks after a few turns, so every battle has a clock.

It is bright and toy-like, with blue water, green pads and boats folded from newspaper and comic pages. Matches last around 20 minutes, and there are 16 campaign missions. A good pick for hot-seat play with friends. The caveat: the demo includes only four missions, and the full game has no online play.
