Gameplay Engineer, Unity

Cobalt Moth · A cozy co-op farming game for up to four players

About this job

Cobalt Moth is a 14-person studio making Mossgrove, a co-op game about running a farm with friends. It's in early access with a 94% positive rating, and version 1.0 ships next spring on PC and consoles.

You'll own gameplay systems on the farming and crafting side. In your first 90 days you'll rebuild crop growth so it stays in sync across four players with poor connections, add seasonal festivals, and help track down the desync bugs our Discord reports every patch. We use Unity with C#, Netcode for GameObjects and a custom save system.

The team is split between the US West Coast and Europe, overlapping 16:00 to 19:00 UTC. We playtest together on Thursdays, keep a shared design wiki, and contractually cap weeks at 40 hours, launch weeks included.
