Aisle Captions

Live captions and translation on attendees' phones during in-person events

About this tool

Aisle Captions listens to the speaker's microphone at a conference or town hall and streams captions and translations to attendees' phones through a QR code, with no app install required. Organizers can upload a glossary of product and speaker names beforehand to improve accuracy.

Event producers, universities and companies running all-hands meetings use it to make sessions accessible to deaf and hard-of-hearing attendees and to non-native speakers. Transcripts are available afterward if the organizer allows it. It needs a clean feed from the sound desk; captions from a room microphone are noticeably worse, and translation latency of two to four seconds can be distracting with fast speakers.
