How Fieldkit AI is edited
Fieldkit AI is a small, independent directory of AI tools for people who use them at work: writers, designers, editors, engineers, researchers and operations teams. We would rather list fifty tools we can vouch for than five thousand we can't. Every entry is written by an editor who has used the tool, and every entry names at least one limitation.
Our process is simple. A submission is screened for a public product, clear pricing and a data policy. If it passes, an editor uses it on real tasks for at least a week, then writes the listing and assigns a rating. Vendors can correct facts before publication but cannot edit our opinion. Listings are re-checked when pricing or terms change, and the last review date is shown on each page.
We pay our bills through a clearly labeled newsletter sponsorship and some affiliate links, which are disclosed on the listings that use them. Neither affects what we include or how we rate it, and we have turned down sponsors whose tools we declined to list.

How do you decide which tools get listed?
An editor uses each submitted tool for at least a week on real work in its category. We list it only if it does something specific well, has public pricing and a written data policy, and we can describe a real person who should pay for it. Roughly one in nine submissions makes it in.
How are tools ranked within a category?
By default, categories are sorted by our editorial rating, which reflects how well the tool does its main job, how clearly it handles data, and value for money. Ratings are revisited when a tool ships a major update or changes pricing. You can also sort by newest or filter by price and license.
Can companies pay to be listed or ranked higher?
No. Listings, ratings and featured spots cannot be bought. Fieldkit AI is funded by the newsletter sponsorship slot, which is always labeled Sponsored, never appears inside listings, and is sold only to tools we have already listed on merit.
Do you use affiliate links?
Some outbound links carry an affiliate code when the vendor offers one, and those listings say so at the bottom. Whether a link earns us anything has no effect on inclusion or rating, and tools without affiliate programs are featured just as often.
A listing is out of date. How do I report it?
Use the report link at the bottom of any listing, or email corrections@fieldkit.ai. Vendors can request a re-review after a major release. We check reported prices and policies within a week and note the date of the last review on every entry.
