Kilnworks
Open-source desktop app for running image models locally with layers and masks
About this tool
Kilnworks wraps open image-generation models in a layered canvas that feels closer to a photo editor than a node graph. You can mask a region, regenerate only that area, keep a seed history per layer and compare variations side by side, all on your own GPU without an account.
It appeals to illustrators and studios who want control over their models and their files, including teams with client confidentiality requirements. Model downloads are handled inside the app with license notes shown for each. You need a GPU with at least 8 GB of video memory for comfortable use, and setup on Linux still involves the command line.
