Sub-second pages, typed APIs, boring deploys

We ship Astro and Next.js front ends on Postgres, with performance budgets in CI, end-to-end tests on the money paths, and a runbook your team can actually follow at 2 a.m.

Selected work

Six projects, measured before and after

Storefronts, booking, internal tools and a couple of rescues. Each case study shows the starting numbers, the decisions we made and what changed once it shipped.

All work

Hearthline Goods2025

Rebuilding a homewares storefront for mobile buyers

A themed storefront weighing 6.1 MB per product page became a headless Astro build that loads in just over a second on a mid-range phone, with a shorter checkout to match.

Brightwell Freight2024

Replacing 14 spreadsheets with one dispatch dashboard

A regional freight company ran dispatch, driver hours and invoicing across 14 shared spreadsheets. We replaced them with one dashboard that dispatchers open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.

Fernway Utilities2025

An offline-first app for field engineers

Engineers inspecting water meters filled in paper forms that were typed up days later. We built a mobile app that works with no signal and syncs photos and readings when it can.

  • React Native
  • SQLite
  • Postgres

Cobalt Physio2024

Online booking for a physiotherapy clinic network

Twelve clinics took bookings by phone, and front desks spent three hours a day on the line. We built online booking that respects clinician rules and syncs with their practice software.

  • Next.js
  • Postgres
  • Practice management API

Marrow & Co2023

Moving a 9,000-page publisher off a legacy CMS

A food publisher was stuck on an unsupported CMS with a 40-minute publish cycle. We migrated 9,000 pages to a headless CMS and static front end without losing search traffic.

  • Astro
  • Headless CMS
  • Redirect mapping

Lumen Pantry2026

A performance rescue for a grocery subscription app

A meal-kit subscription app had grown slow enough that customers missed their weekly cut-off. In six weeks we fixed the front end, the queries and the caching behind the menu page.

Services

Four ways to work with us

Every engagement starts with a paid discovery or audit, so you get a written plan and a fixed price before committing to a build.

Services & process
  • E-commerce builds

Headless or themed storefronts on Shopify or a custom stack, built for mobile buyers and measured on conversion, not on how the homepage looks in a pitch deck.

    From $38,000

  • Web apps and booking

Customer-facing web apps with real business rules: booking, quoting, accounts and payments. Typed end to end and tested where mistakes cost money.

    From $45,000

  • Internal tools

Dashboards and back-office tools that replace spreadsheets and copy-paste. Designed for people who use them all day, with keyboard shortcuts and sensible permissions.

    From $28,000

  • Performance rescues

A fixed-length engagement to find why your site or app is slow, fix the worst causes alongside your team and leave guardrails so it stays fixed.

    From $18,000

Kind words from clients

They asked for our analytics before they asked about colours. Every decision in the rebuild was tied to a number, and the numbers moved.

  • “The handover week was the best part. Our two developers now own the system, and the runbook has already saved one Saturday.”

  • “Fixed price, weekly demos, no surprises. When the practice software API turned out worse than expected, they told us that week and showed us the plan B.”

  • “Six weeks, and our Wednesday night support queue went quiet. They left us with budgets in CI that we still follow every sprint.”
