Python & DjangoSubscription

Moorland

Django REST backend with a React SPA, kept current by subscription

About this starter

Moorland splits Django and React cleanly. The backend is Django REST Framework with JWT and session auth, organizations, Stripe and Paddle billing, Celery jobs and a webhook inbox. The front end is a Vite React app with TanStack Query, a component library, and screens for onboarding, billing, team management and audit logs. OpenAPI types keep both halves in sync.

The subscription covers framework upgrades and a growing set of modules, recently feature flags and an in-app changelog. It is opinionated about a strict API boundary so a mobile app can reuse every endpoint. The limitation: two deploys, CORS and token refresh to configure, and more code than a server-rendered kit needs for the same screens.

Highlights

  • 01OpenAPI types shared by backend and front end
  • 02Feature flags and in-app changelog modules
  • 03Webhook inbox with retries for billing events
