Senior Backend Engineer, Payments

Larchmont Pay · Payout infrastructure behind 4,000 online marketplaces

About this job

The Payouts team moves about $90M a week from marketplaces to the sellers on them: ceramicists on craft sites, tutors on lesson platforms, drivers on local delivery apps. Six engineers own the ledger, the bank integrations and the retry logic that decides what happens when a transfer bounces at 2 a.m.

In your first 90 days you'll ship a change to the payout scheduler, take a turn on the on-call rotation (one week in six, paid at $600 a week), and lead the migration of instant payouts from a single bank partner to two. The stack is Go services, Postgres with logical replication and Kafka between them.

The team spans Vancouver to São Paulo. Standup is a written thread, design reviews happen in docs with a 48-hour comment window, and there's one optional video call a week on Thursdays.
