About this game

You command nine named soldiers holding a mountain pass through the winter. Each night is a short tactical battle on the same map, and each day you decide who rests, who repairs the wall and who goes foraging. Soldiers who die stay dead. As the season wears on, the map itself changes with snowdrifts and collapsed towers.

The art is muted crimson and slate, with soldiers drawn as small, expressive portraits. A full winter takes around 9 hours, and there are three difficulty seasons. It suits players who enjoy permadeath tactics and getting attached to a squad. The caveat: the same map for forty nights will feel repetitive to some, even with the changes.

Highlights

  • 01Nine named soldiers, permanent losses
