About this tool
Paste an article, report or press release and Deskcheck extracts each factual claim, searches for supporting and contradicting sources, and marks every claim as supported, disputed or unverifiable. Numbers are checked against the original dataset where possible, not against other articles quoting it.
Newsrooms, communications teams and policy writers use it as a second reader before publication. It is good at catching wrong dates, outdated statistics and misattributed quotes. It cannot verify claims that rely on private information, such as what an interviewee told you, and it marks those unverifiable rather than guessing; a human editor still makes the call.
