Hushmill

Fixes echo, hum and uneven levels in podcast and interview recordings

About this tool

Hushmill cleans spoken-word audio in one pass: it reduces room echo, removes hum and background noise, evens out levels between speakers and exports to podcast loudness standards. A before-and-after scrubber lets you compare any section and dial each fix back if it sounds over-processed.

Podcasters who record in kitchens and spare bedrooms, and teams turning video calls into episodes, hear the clearest improvement. Separate tracks per speaker give better results than a single mixed file. It is designed for speech; music beds are treated as noise and will get mangled, so add music after cleanup, not before.
