Booking commissions from March 2027
Professional early riser, occasional tide-table nerd
I'm Wren Takahashi. I photograph coastlines, quiet rooms, interesting faces and very good bread. Usually before breakfast, sometimes in the rain, always with a spare battery.

Six recent commissions, from the brief to the final frame
Each project shows what the client asked for, what the weather and the budget allowed, how I lit and shot it, and where the pictures ended up.
Services
Commissions, licensing, prints and workshops
Most of my year is commissioned work for magazines, architects, hotels and food brands. The archive is available to license, the best frames are printed in small editions, and twice a year I teach.
Commissions
Editorial, architecture, hotel and still life shoots, planned from a scout and a shot list. Day and half-day rates, travel at cost, a stylist or assistant when the brief needs one.
From $2,400/day
Licensing
Over 9,000 captioned images of coasts, landscapes, interiors and food, available for editorial, advertising and packaging use. Licences are priced by use, territory and term, not by guesswork.
From $350/image
Prints
Archival pigment prints and darkroom silver gelatin prints from the film work, in editions of 30. Signed, numbered and shipped flat or framed in oak.
From $280
Workshops
Two-day field workshops for six people at a time, on coastal landscape and on interiors with natural light. Shooting at dawn, editing in the afternoon, honest portfolio reviews.
From $690
Kind words from clients
Wren Takahashi came back from the Faroes with a cover, two spreads and a story told in pictures. The planning sheet alone told me we were in good hands.
“Architects are fussy about verticals and fussier about honesty. These images look like the building on a grey afternoon, and that's why the jury liked them.”
Callum MarshDirector, Hollin & Marsh Architects“We booked a photographer and got a system. Every new product since then has been shot to match in an hour, not a day.”
Lena OkoroCo-founder, Oat & Ember“Four days, a fully booked hotel and August heat. Not one guest complained and we have pictures for the next five years.”
